Tough times don't last

25/02/2021

You have also already encountered tough situations in your life, haven't you? Situations when you felt like everything would fall apart and nothing would work out. Since the beginning of the Covid-pandemic unfortunately many of you might have experienced this feeling. But even if the past year has not impacted you negatively, it has surely happened that you lost your job, probably a close relative or a friend, you became ill or some of your plans did not work out as you originally imagined. How did you live through these tough times? Today I would like to help you in getting back to speed even after the worst disasters. Let's see what you can do, step by step!

  • DO NOT SEE YOURSELF AS A VICTIM!

If you continuously keep on thinking "Why me?", you are just wasting your time. Do not force yourself into the position of a victim! If you keep on being hard on yourself, you just try to convince yourself that you do not deserve all the good things awaiting you. But if you only switch or a little bit more positive frequency, valuable things will start flowing your way.

  • FORGET ABOUT YOUR WORRIES AND FEARS!

If you unnecessarily worry, it will not move you forward! We are all human, so tend to worry, but the more you try to calm yourself down, the less likely that you will sink deeper in the ocean of worries and fears. Try the following exercise: "Imagine that you are writing down all your worries on a separate piece of paper! Than think about crumpling all of them and throwing them into the dustbin one by one!" Conquer your fears! If you succeed in calming down, you will be much more likely to find the solution most suitable in the given situation!

  • TALK ABOUT YOUR PROBLEM!

If you bottle up the problems challenging you, they will just keep on growing and lead to neverending worries or fears. However if you talk about your hardships, then it will be easier for you to understand your own fears and you can get valuable feedback from others. Probably they have also already experienced similar problems, so they will understand your pain.

  • LOOK AT THE SITUATION AS AN OUTSIDER!

Take a short break, breathe in and out and look at the situation as an outsider, as if you listened to the problems of your friend or colleague. You might reach a conclusion, which you had not reached otherwise.

  • PREPARE FOR THE SITUATION... EVEN IF IT'S ALREADY TOO LATE TO DO SO!

Who are the ones who happen to survive even the toughest life situations? Yes, those who are prepared for them. As per Dan Coyle, the American expert in the topic, the more similar the practiced situation is to reality, the more probable that you will succeed during the live event. Even the wrong practice can be better than none.

  • WORK, WORK, WORK!

Resilient people know that if you keep on being busy, you will not only get closer to your targets, but you can also calm yourself down. Believe it or not, all of us are happier if we engage in doing something.

  • THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING TO BE GRATEFUL FOR

Life is easier if you smile! The most successful leaders preserve their calmness and stay positive even in the toughest times. Be thankful for those things you can be thankful for! In the end we are not grateful because of happiness, but we will be happy due to being grateful!

  • HELP OTHERS AND THEY WILL HELP YOU AS WELL!

All of us can ask for help. But too often we are afraid from doing so or we are ashamed of relying on others. Do not let your pride be stronger! Similarly: if you help others even in the toughest times, you can also make your situation easier! Help others so that they could help you as well!

  • SPEND NO TIME WITH TOXIC PEOPLE!

Surely there are also people arounf you who do not understand and support you and are not reliable. They do not listen to you, criticize you and are negative. If you happen to be in a tough life situation yourself as well, try avoiding them as much as you can! The less you interact with them, the easier it will be for you!

  • BE KIND TO YOURSELF!

You have to care about yourself so that you could survive even the toughest periods. Be kind and patient to yourself! Read a book, call one of your friends or run a bit! It doesn't matter what you do, the point is to calm yourself down so that you could face the upcoming challenges with renewed batteries.
