Failures, negative events happen in the lives of all of us, but in most cases whether these really impact us in a negative way or not, depends on our attitude. People often also ask me: what is your secret? Positivity, stay positive, positive attitude towards life... and I could continue this list forever, but does everything really starts in our heads?
Today I have brought 5 thoughts to you, which have come into my mind in connection with positive thinking. Enjoy reading!
In the past decade we could read about the law of attraction in many acknowledged and a few scientifically less underpinned books, which basically suggest that by altering our thoughts the right way, our whole life will change into a positive direction. One can agree with or argue about this statement, but today even researches suggest that positive, happiness oriented thinking is healthy, moreover: it is an essential ingredient of our everyday lives. But why? In today's article I am examining this heavily talked about topic from a coach's point of view.
1. WHAT IS THE SITUATION LIKE IN HUNGARY?
You might have also realized that negativity is a usual charateristic of Hungarian people, but it is important to highlight that the situation is not hopeless. According to the 2018 worldwide happiness research called World Happiness Report Hungary occupies place No. 69 in the list containing 156 countries. But who are the happiest people in our country? Usually, those 36-50 year old, positively thinking men and women who see themselves rich and wealthy, the ones raising 4 ore more children, the more educated and those living in a relationship or marriage. Are you one of them? If not, have you already thought about how you could become one?
2. BE THE EXCEPTION!
Are there also many negative people around you? Have you realized that your friends, your colleagues continuously keep on talking about the failures of their lives? Are you fed up with listening to their stories about screwed up relationships, intolerable workplaces, problematic children? Be the one who leads by positive example! Show them that you can be different! Everyone will notice that you are not like the others - in a positive way. Your friends will be happier when being around you and they will turn to you for constructive advices.
3. POSITIVE CHANGES IN YOUR PRIVATE AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE
If you start your day in a positive way, control your thoughts and learn to live in the present, besides positive changes in your private life, the professional ones will also follow. You will get more closely connected to your family members, you will find your way back to your old friends and you will make new friendships. As per the findings of Barbara Fredrickson, the positive psychology expert of the University of North Carolina you can not only positively influence your fellows in the present moment, but you can continuously change their lives in a positive direction and lead them to follow a fluorishing, healthy path. Your career will skyrocket and you wil become a great leader in your community. If additionally you also manage to add regular exercise to your daily routine, you will gain an endless amount of energy, which will make your everyday life easier!
4. YOU WILL SET AND IMPLEMENT YOUR OBJECTIVES IN A MORE EFFECTIVE WAY
As a business and life coach I am happy to help you if your life is in ruins, you have no vision and no objectives. In these cases it often helps if you learn to include positive thinking in your life. Based on my experiences, even a few sessions can lead to significant improvements. As per the words of James Allen British writer: "A man's mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth." If you learn to generate positive thoughts, sooner or later you will find yourself setting and implementing more realistic objectives in a more effective way, so you will experience much greater success.
5. BE CAREFUL: POZITIVE THINKING DOES NOT ALWAYS HELP, EITHER!
It is important to note that
positive thinking is not a universal remedy, either, so it does not help in all
life situations. We often hear the statement "Everything starts in your
head!". This is usually true, but as everywhere, we can find exceptions
here as well. There are occasions when it is not enough to create constructive
thoughts to automatically result in a smoothly functioning life. In their book Everything starts in the head? - What depends on us - and what does not, Emőke Bagdy and her colleagues thoroughly write about this topic.
If for example you consider a given event as negativity in the beginning and you
only decide to change your mind later, it can easily happen that in the end
this whole thought pyramid carefully built up by you will collapse... even
though in reality the situation was not as bad originally as you described it,
